The membership of the Association shall consist of Ordinary Members, Life Members, Associate Members, Corporate Members, Honorary Members, Fellow Members, Affiliate Members, Student Members and Veterinary para-professional Members.

Ordinary Membership
Open to any Malaysian who is a Private Small Animal Practitioner.

Life Membership
Open to active Ordinary Members who pay a lump sum of RM2000.00 and who have been with the Association as Ordinary Members for 5 continuous years. The approval of Life Membership is at the discretion of the Council.

Associate Membership

Open to Veterinarians who are interested in the Science of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery.

Corporate Membership
Open to any locally incorporated organisation recommended by the council involved in the development of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery and expresses interest in the objectives of the Association. Corporate members are entitled to nominate two representatives to the AGM without voting right.

Honorary Members
conferred to those persons who hold high positions in the Veterinary profession or related professions and have done an exemplary work by contributing to animal welfare and related science and shall be invited by the Council to be Honorary Members.

Fellow Members
Members who been elected at the Annual General Meeting on the recommendation of the Council for outstanding, distinguished and/or meritorious contribution of scientific knowledge to the field of Small Animal Veterinary profession and the Association. Fellows of the Association shall be entitled to use the abbreviation Fellows of (name of the association) after their names.

Affiliate Membership
Open to any group of persons involved in the study and development of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery and expresses interest in the objectives of the Association. An Affiliate Member is entitled to nominate one representative to the AGM without voting right.

Student Membership
Open to any Malaysian who, at the time of application, is a registered student pursuing a basic veterinary degree. He shall cease to become a student member upon graduation/termination of his studies.

Veterinary para-professional members
Open to any individual who works as Veterinary Nurses or Veterinary Assistant/technician or even veterinary manager in MSAVA recognized Private Small Animal Practice/Hospital and have the nursing or veterinary technician or veterinary assistant qualification from AIRC, Tafe College, Veterinary Institute of Kluang or any other institute that is recognized by the Malaysian Veterinary Council.
