Dear Members

Welcome to the MSAVA website. We have tried to keep the page and content objective and relevant and updated as much as well as we can and the big thank you has to be given to our Honorary Secretary, Dr Yaslynn  for taking the initiative to take on this mammoth task.

This year we were confronted with the challenges of rampant quackery, the Rabies outbreak, medicine supply shortages and a desperate need to establish standards for the profession as a result of the new Veterinary Act. I would like to invite our esteemed colleagues to help nurture ethics and welfare into their practice credo with the sole intention to improve the image of the profession to the public.

With FASAVA 2016  in April , we are expecting a good turnout. We have prepared for this event since the bid was won in 2013 and have taken the event promotion to many countries in the region. Without the support of our invaluable sponsors time and time again we would not be able to make this event happen. As an association, the mutual partnership with the sponsors is crucial and mutually beneficial.  The “teething” problems pertaining to drug registration are still being addressed by various associations and stakeholders in the industry. We have helped drug companies facilitate a method for a temporary exemption to ensure an available supply of medicines to the industry.  I would like to remind our fellow members to support companies that have stood by the Association through the tough economic times to fund our congress in April.

I would like to thank Miss Cecelia , for agreeing to take on the MSAVA administrative role for another two years.  She will be in the office for 2 full days in a week to assist you with your enquiries. We will be signing up for a permanent web line for the MSAVA office.  We are doing our best to ensure that your e-mails are replied to within a week. Please give her your support, should she call you for updates on your contact detail .

Today, MSAVA serves 442 members throughout Malaysia. As the association grows, we remain dedicated to serving our member veterinarians through continuing education  and to engage  relevant government bodies and departments on issues of concern. Our goal is to provide our members with the necessary support so that they can surpass the challenges and continue to be informed, practitioners.

Finally, I would like to thank each executive council member for taking their role seriously and making the process so much more enjoyable and manageable!
